SO Much More Than a Medical Alert Button!

Decades ago, the only technology available was the "I've fallen and I can't get up" button. But these systems can only alert someone to your distress. Today, we can help prevent it!

We have come so far in technology by improving the capability of monitoring those who live alone, or those that suffer with chronic illness. Medical Alert Systems have more features than ever before. Some even have a built in GPS so loved ones can locate the wearer through an App. Some systems can even alert you to inactivity, which can be a sign of significant distress. The older systems were a one way communication system, but the newer systems are now a two way system.  They can even be used to remind you to take your medication, to go to the doctor, and other health reminders as well.  Some systems can connect  you to a healthcare professional.  So whether it is an emergency, or you are in need of medical advice, you can now speak to someone anytime of the day.

Platinum Select Nursing will always provide you with the "platinum" level of care. However, we understand that there are times when you might not have a caregiver with you. This is when it is essential to have the right emergency response system for you and for all your needs.  We believe the right medical alert system can be the perfect complement to our care. The new technology provides the freedom and confidence for elderly people or those who are chronically ill, to live safely and independently in their own home.

New Stylish Wristband or Pendant

The older medical alert systems have a pendant that is worn around the neck. However it has been known to get in the way of activities and meals. The newer emergency systems still offer the pendant, but now they also offer a fitness band style emergency alarm that is worn around the wrist. They are now submersible, water resistant and have a longer range capability. They are light weight, attractive and can be worn 24/7, providing reliable protection. Many of our clients love the newer systems especially the wristband since it doesn’t look like an emergency alert button.

Activity Detection

The new activity detection features now verifies that you are active. In the event you might be unconscious and unable to press a button, we’ll know something is wrong and an alert signals the emergency response facility.

Medication Management

Personalized, monitored medication reminders keep you on track with your care plan. If  you do not respond to the reminder, it can check to make sure you’re okay.

Family Caregiver Connection Apps

Many of the newer systems can now alert both your family (or anyone you designate) as well as emergency responders. The systems are easy to use and have both  Android & iOS apps so family members can have access to check on their loved ones whereabouts.  They can even use the app to send a personalized message or reminder.

24 hr EMT Operators &  Stay-on-the-Line Service

Most systems whether new or older are monitored by live technicians. But there are now newer emergency response systems whose facility is staffed with licensed emergency medical technicians or other healthcare providers. Now the most qualified operators in the industry can respond to your inquiries, notify responsible parties when a wellness check is needed, or notify emergency services during a crisis.  These providers are there to reassure, advise and assess, until a responder has arrived to assist you.

Platinum Select Nursing will help you chose the right Emergency Medical Response provider that will best suits your needs.
